I donated some of my best early work to the Sunshine Internet Guild’s HEAT FUND AUCTION (2000 & 2001), which was a joint effort of the Armenian and American Embassies and was run by the Midland Bank of England to raise money to heat orphanages overseas.
When I am able I make quilts for the Sunshine Internet Guild, which in the past sent quilts to those in need overseas through the International Red Cross. They are now supporting Wrap-a-Smile which is part of a Rotary program called Rotaplast. Rotaplast sends medical teams to Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia, China, Viet Nam, and Romania to perform cleft lip/cleft palate surgery on children. Wrap-a-Smile is an arm of that project and provides quilts for each child to be wrapped in after surgery. The children keep the quilts and take them home.

Friday, November 13th, 2009Giving back to the Community
Thursday, October 8th, 2009I feel it is important to give of yourself to help others . It gives me great pleasure to know that my Functional Art provides both warmth and helps to raise money for causes that can make a difference.
I have made quilts for the 123 project, for babies “at risk”. I have also made quilts for the Quilted Gift project through my quilting guild (Amoskeag Quilt Guild). The Quilted Gift distributes quilts to local groups such as veterans, children’s homes, women’s shelters ,nursing homes or wherever the need arises.
