My pear tree still has about 10lbs left on the highest branches and are hard to pick without help.  So tomorrow I will have my husband hold the ladder while I use the fruit picker my dad made me  to harvest the rest of the pears.

I  canned 5 +  quarts of pear halves in syrup today and one batch of pear preserves yesterday. The Ball books are great for finding tasty recipes and as long as I follow the directions I do just fine!

Although I over filled my plastic freezer containers with applesauce and my husband said some of them exploded……….oops.

But being an awesome guy he repacked the applesauce for me and put it back in the freezer!
